Preserving Twin Cities Historical Media Through Legacy Artifacts
TCMediaNow, founded in 2009 by Tom Oszman, is dedicated to preserving and providing access to the rich media history and culture of the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota.
The organization started with a collection of video tapes that were on the brink of being discarded, including valuable news and commercial footage. Despite being seen as outdated in the digital age, these legacy media artifacts contain important historical content that would otherwise be lost. TCMediaNow works to digitize and make these materials accessible, ensuring that the unique media heritage of the Twin Cities is preserved for future generations.
By focusing on the restoration and digitization of video tapes and film, TCMediaNow helps safeguard a crucial part of the area's historical narrative, allowing researchers, educators, and the public to explore a wealth of local culture and history.
