From WTCN-TV in 1984, Tom Ryther reports on the rumor of Carl Pohlad purchasing the Minnesota Twins from Calvin Griffith. Pohlad known primarily to that point as the owner of Marquette Bank and other Twin Cities companies talks about in this short interview his intentions of increasing funding for player salaries and promotions. Always controversial among fans and not-so fans, this was the start of an era in Twins history. Included is the original WTCN news opening featuring Paul Magers, Diana Pierce, and Paul Douglas.
