KSTP-TV "The World Today" sports segment from April 1972 featuring Tom Ryther along with Ted O'Brien and Barry ZeVan. This team was selected through a national search by Frank Magid in 1970 and went on the air in July 1971. While not an instant hit with viewers, The World Today (and later in 1973 Eyewitness News) set record highs in Twin Cities news ratings.
