From the Boyett and Bremen promotion at KMSP. Boyett and Bremen were the bright new news guys on KMSP in the mid 1970s. This promotion is a shot for shot duplicate of the Mary Tyler Moore intro. According to the Star Tribune January 23, 1974 (Thank you Jeff Lonto)
“Although the “new” song was written by Craig Wiese of Grey Advertising, arranged by Dick Wilson-Griak, recorded at Sound 80 by Mary Macgregor, it is so close to derivative theme as written and sung by Sonny Curtis that it seems like plagiarism.”

Comments:

WW: Plagiarism and parody are two different things. The latter is protected by law. That’s how Weird Al Yankovic has gotten away with it for over 30 years, making a name for himself.
